Welcome to my blog where we share real life and hopefully get a glimpse into ways we can live out our “perfect” stories amidst the daily grind! I hope you will grab a cup of coffee, make yourself at home, and get ready to be inspired to live and work each day with purpose.
You are the Producer of Your Perfect Story
Do you love watching movies? I do! Movie writers and producers have one job and that is to write and produce the perfect story. The perfect story in the movie world is one that captures the mind of the viewer in such a way that they are taken right into the heart of the plot. Viewers can literally picture themselves as the hero or heroine as the plot unfolds on the screen. They feel the emotions of the characters, eagerly cheer on their victories, and delight in their happily-ever-after endings.
It might be important to note here that not even a great writer or producer can craft a perfect story in just a day or even a week. It takes months and months and many trials and errors to create a masterpiece that has the potential to become a box office hit.
The same is true in writing our perfect story, my friends. As the producers of our own “perfect” story, we chisel away each day to create a living legacy or masterpiece we will leave behind for others to watch. On some days, our “viewers” may see amazing feats of courage as we successfully tackle the villains of fear or doubt that come our way. On other days, our “viewers” may be surprised to see far from courageous behavior being played out as we give in to defeat and lay wounded.
Your Perfect Story Isn’t Always Perfect
That is because our “perfect” story isn’t always going to perfect, at least from the outside looking in. Just like the heroine in our favorite movie, we make mistakes. We allow our hearts to walk into dangerous places where we become captured by fear and are eventually tempted to give up. We are convinced that we aren’t enough. We aren’t brave enough. We aren’t educated enough. We aren’t pretty enough. We aren’t organized enough. The list goes on and on.
If we are going to craft our “perfect” story, we are going to have to persevere and be willing to do a rewrite from time to time. We’re going to have to grab a fellow comrade to walk beside us on some days to encourage us to keep on keeping on. Our “perfect” story doesn’t mean we’ll be perfect. It does mean that each new day will serve to mold us into the “perfect” person we were meant to be. Each new scene or stage will present us with new challenges and how we react to those challenges will determine how the “plot” unfolds before our “viewers”. As the producer, will your “perfect” story be one of complacency, mediocrity, or fear, or will you bravely face each new day willing to step out in faith to create a legacy and masterpiece that is sure to become a box office hit?
It is my prayer that my blog posts will serve as an encouragement to you on your journey to write your perfect story, whatever that entails. Let us lock arms and join together to live and work out our “perfect” stories each day amidst the daily challenges we face as moms, wives, and entrepreneurs.
